There’s something about black & white photography that I find hard to describe what it is I like so much about it. Maybe it’s the fact that photography ‘painting with light’ allows the viewer to just see where the light is falling across the surfaces within the photo and leaves it uncluttered of colour. Sometimes I think I’d like to just photograph everything with the intention of it being black and white but then on a wedding we feel we have to see the colour of the flowers and dresses. Certainly many fine art photographers predominantly worked in black & … Continue reading
Saturday was such a beautiful day for Katie & Andy’s wedding. The church ceremony in Eastbourne and then off to Newick Park. Doing wedding photography at Newick Park is a great pleasure, it has to be one of my favorite venues in the South East so I was really pleased when Katie & Andy booked me to take their photos. I love the Art Deco style of this lovely country house with it’s fantastic photo opportunities. Here’s a few from the day:
What a wonderful wedding Krissy & Ross had at the beautiful Woburn Abbey. Talk about being lucky; the weather held out all day until the everyone was in for the wedding breakfast. Apparently it was raining all day further south. I hope you both enjoy a small sampling of some of the shots we took. It was a real pleasure to be at your wedding and we wish you both many years of happiness.

Yesterday I attended the Master Photographers Association South East regional photography awards and all day seminar. I entered just one picture in the wedding category which also had the greatest number of entries. I was delighted to get 1st place and win the title of ‘MPA wedding photographer of the year – South East region’ my winning image will now go forward to the nationals held later in the year. Having been shooting … Continue reading
This year I have decided to make an effort to make make sure I enter my wedding work in to competitions and having already got a Gold award in March I was pleased to get another for May’s competion in British Professional Photography Awards. In years past I have always been a bit lazy at entering my work in to trade comepetitions but I think for my clients to know that I consistently win awards gives them confidence in knowing they are having a photographer whos work is also recoginsed in the inustry as being at a very high level … Continue reading
Yesterday myself and John Langridge put on our first worshop for the South East region MPA. We had around 20 delegates who all hopefully went away with something from what we had to impart in the short space of a day. Being my first workshop I certainly thoroughly enjoyed it. Here are a few images from the day. Non of the models were professional which is my preference so the posing etc. is down to my direction which I feel so important so I can show how to direct a bride. Seeing that it was such a success John & … Continue reading
