Wedding Photographer Surrey & UK – Surrey Wedding Photography by Paul Johnson
Surrey has some wonderful wedding venues and I have had the pleasure of photographing weddings at many of the top Surrey wedding venues numerous times. Although I live in West Sussex, Surrey is literally 1/2 mile down the road from me. So I’m closer to lots of the churches and civil wedding venues in Surrey than in my home county.
Many new wedding venues have come in to being over recent years and Surrey is no exception. Botleys Mansion and Clandon Park spring to mind. It doesn’t seem that long ago that the rules changed when you only had the choice of either marrying in a church or down the local registry office. That change in the law changed the face of modern day weddings to what it is today and now we are in for another change with the same sex marriage. In many ways church weddings do add to the and slow down the pace.
My advice would be to couples if you are having a civil wedding in Surrey is to have a longish drinks reception and stretch the day out. A church wedding usually last about 45 minutes to one hour whereas as a civil wedding can be as quick as 20 minutes. You could add to readings to add your own personal touch. This many couples choose to do.
Surrey is quite a small county when you think of how wide Kent is so its quite easy to travel to many parts of Surrey in quite a short space of time. If you live in West Sussex, Kent or London you could consider having a wedding or reception in Surrey.
Some of my personal favorite wedding venues in Surrey are:
Losely House which is just outside Guildford, Its Manor House and gardens are magnificent and allow for some wonderful wedding photos. Check out Jo and Mitch’s album
Wentworth Golf Club renowned as one of the world best golf clubs. Its has a spectacular club house. When I have photographed here we can often get our hands on a golf buggy and go and do some pictorial photos of the couple at some of the beautiful areas around the course. Here’s a complete wedding album where the reception was held at Wentworth.
Pennyhill Park is another venue that springs to mind when I think of weddings in Surrey. Its a 5 star hotel in Bagshot. Its grounds are very beautiful and the library offers a very intimate place to hold a wedding. The manicured gardens with ornate porn are breathtaking. From a photography point of view my favorite feature of the hotel has to be its staircase with stained glass window. Here’s an album of mine from Pennyhill Park
The Barn at Bury Court is also another favorite of mine. It has some of the most stunning gardens I know of at the wedding venues in Surrey
One more of my recommended venues is Great Fosters in Egham. I’ve photographed here a number of times and again it offers outstanding opportunities for photography and a wonderful place to hold a wedding reception or civil wedding.
I hope this is of use, if you would like to let me know your personal favorites I’d be glad to look at adding it.
