This year I have decided to make an effort to make make sure I enter my wedding work in to competitions and having already got a Gold award in March I was pleased to get another for May’s competion in British Professional Photography Awards. In years past I have always been a bit lazy at entering my work in to trade comepetitions but I think for my clients to know that I consistently win awards gives them confidence in knowing they are having a photographer whos work is also recoginsed in the inustry as being at a very high level of creativety.

I have just created a new portfolio for my website which I am testing and would welcome any feedback on ie. does it load Ok for you, what impression do you get etc.

PORTFOLIO TEST

Yesterday myself and John Langridge put on our first worshop for the South East region MPA. We had around 20 delegates who all hopefully went away with something from what we had to impart in the short space of a day. Being my first workshop I certainly thoroughly enjoyed it. Here are a few images from the day. Non of the models were professional which is my preference so the posing etc. is down to my direction which I feel so important so I can show how to direct a bride. Seeing that it was such a success John & I will put on another workshop and we’d love feedback from those that attended what they would like us to cover that perhaps wasn’t covered or any way you feel it could be improved upon. I would lik eto thank all of you for coming and supporting us in what hopefully will be the first of many.

Anyone interested in attending another of our workshops John and I will be presenting please email your interest to me and I’ll let you know when the next one will be, places will be limited to 20-25 delegates and we’re looking it to cost in the region of £290. At the moment due to the feedback and succes of this one we’re thinking of a 2 day workshop in September and will cover bride & groom photos as well as this very fashion orientated style we covered on this one of bridal photos. Lots more on Photoshop and night time photography with videos lights etc. possibly in Brighton.
